Proprietary vineyard “Teso los Carriles” situated in Argujillo (Zamora). Vineyard Size: 4.78 hectares (11.04 acres). Average altitude: 800 m. (2,625 ft). Geology: sandy soil with a large deposit of fine gravel on the surface. Sub-soil: clay-limestone. Age: planted with ungrafted vines in the second half of the 19th century. Variety: Tinta de Toro (100%), pre-phylloxera (own rooted Vitis vinifera) and autochthonous. Type of training: Head-trained in goblet. Vine Spacing: 3 x 3,5 m. (9.8 x 11.5 ft.). Number of Vines per hectare: 900 (365 per acre) Yield per hectare: 7.2 Hl. (76.92 gallons/acre). Soil amendments: Organic material Harvest: Hand picked in boxes with rigorous selection of the fruit for optimum health and maturity.
